Who we are
The Irish Classroom is run by Niall Brophy, an English teacher based in Madrid, Spain. Niall is responsible for your personal data. Contact: niall@theirishclassroom.com.
What we collect
When you book a trial or create a Student Area account: your name, email, phone / WhatsApp number, your learning goal and the programme you're interested in. For students, we also keep your bookings, lesson notes and programme progress.
Why we use it
Only to arrange and deliver your lessons: scheduling sessions, sending calendar invites and Google Meet links, contacting you about your classes and tracking your progress. The legal basis is the contract you request with us (GDPR art. 6.1.b). We never sell your data or send marketing without your consent.
Who we share it with
Trusted providers that help run the service: Google (Calendar and Meet, for bookings and video lessons), our secure website hosting and database provider, and Zoho (email). Some may process data outside the EU under standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
While you are a student, and up to 3 years after your last lesson for accounting and records, unless you ask us to delete it sooner where the law allows.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or move your data, or object to its use, by emailing niall@theirishclassroom.com. You may also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, aepd.es).
Cookies
This site only uses what's strictly necessary for it to work: storage that keeps you signed in to the Student Area and basic security protection for forms. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, so no cookie banner is required. If we add analytics in future, we'll ask for your consent first.
